Here is an opportunity to own a RARE & LEGENDARY GARDNER 4L2 MARINE DIESEL ENGINE in exceptional working condition. Recent full professional rebuild by Phoenix Reconditioning of Hereford. It is fitted with a Lister Blackstone mechanical 2:1 reduction, forward & reverse marine gearbox. The whole unit is mounted on a heavy duty bespoke trolley. The engine starts easily with a 12v battery and there is a hand start should your battery fail. The engine is still running in, showing 45 psi oil pressure on both gauges and no smoke. It has a reconditioned starter motor, fuel lift pump and water pump. Some parts are unused old stock. Ideal engine for a displacement fishing boat or a large narrowboat (Or just show it off). It revs slowly and sips diesel. The 4L2 represents the epitome of British engineering excellence and should give decades more of reliable service. The 40 horse-power rating belies the strength of this engine with its long stroke and heavy flywheel…and that unmistakable sound!

Collection only please – engine & trolley can be easily winched onto a transporter or trailer (Allow for about 1 and a half tons).
