- Keep elements moist at all times
- Permeate obtained from first two hours of operations should be discarded
- To prevent biological growth during storage, shipping, or system shutdown it is recommended that elements be immersed in a protective solution.
The standard solution for long or short term storage should contain 1.0 percent (by weight) sodium metabisulfite (available as VMT p/n 85-0103, 95-0038, 85-0044 or 85-0049)
